South Stars Aishwarya Arjun and Umapathy Ramaiah became one in holy matrimony at their traditional wedding held recently in Chennai. To make the ceremony even more special, the bride and groom were dressed in South Indian wedding finery. Actor Arjun's daughter, Aishwarya made the most ethereal bride in a creation by Hyderabad-based designer Gaurang Shah. The custom red Kanjeevaram silk saree was intricately designed to weave scenes from Lord Ram's coronation.

The geometric patterns draw inspiration from traditional temple sculptures from Kanchipuram, from where this particular saree style hails. Her sareewas paired with an equally beautiful blouse with intricate floral motifs embroidered on it and borders that share the same intricacy as the saree. No South Indian bridal attire is complete without gold jewellery.

Aishwarya's wouldn't have been the same. She was adorned with jewels from head to toe with a nethi chutti (the maatha patti), jhumkas (earrings), aravanki (armband), a combination of a long and short necklace, rings and gold bangles. Son of Thambi Ramaiah, Umapathy Ramaiah, was as serene as the sea in an ivory and gold silk and zari veshti set, the traditional wedding outfit for the groom.
