Hi there,
installed LXLE on an older net book computer which was running Win 7 prior. It works pretty well!
Anyway, on getting it to run I wondered that the install instructions only mention a way (via Etcher) to install LXLE from Linux (see WIKI: https://wiki.lxle.net/doku.php/install and article: https://www.addictivetips.com/ubuntu-linux-tips/how-to-install-lxle-linux-to-revive-your-older-pc/). By the way, the Etcher link in the article is wrong and leads to Ventoy instructions.
I'd suggest to extend especially the WIKI to mention that for Windows/Mac users Etcher is the best way to go. See https://linuxmint-installation-guide.readthedocs.io/en/latest/burn.html for reference. Maybe the Linux Mint install guide should be linked at this point. (Would have added this myself to the wiki but it is restricted as far as I saw.)
Have a nice day

Regarding the issue with the Etcher link leading to Ventoy instructions, thanks for pointing that out. The correct steps for creating a USB from a Windows system should indeed be highlighted more clearly.
So if someone is still at Windows, she/he can create the usb from our iso file in Windows - with Rufus in case the Etcher would not work. Rufus needs Windows to run, they have no Linux version yet.
It is a pretty straightforward process (which I used when I switched years ago).
1 Download LXLE iso from this website.
2 Download Rufus (at the moment 4.3, link above) and copy both files to your Windows drive somewhere.
3 Run Rufus on Windows, choose your USB stick and the LXLE iso - that is it! The default settings you see do work. Click ""start""and wait some minutes.
4 Use your USB stick to install LXLE on your machine. Remember to switch OFF your internet connection for the LXLE Focal before you install .
