Airline Cabin Travel

Is there anyone who has successfully traveled with an 8 week old doberman puppy in the cabin as a carry on? I've got airline credits for American Airlines but I'm struggling to find a carrier that can handle the pup's weight as well as be able to fit under the seat with 100% certainty.

I don't care about price. Any recommendations are appreciated.

  • I traveled with my 8-week-old puppy a few months ago and had the same concerns. I found a soft-sided carrier that fit perfectly under the seat by double-checking the airline’s guidelines and measuring carefully. I ended up using the Sherpa Deluxe carrier, which worked well and was approved by the airline. Make sure to get one with good ventilation and padding to keep your pup comfy. I also brought along a familiar blanket to help soothe him. • I would be worried that they would make you put the puppy in cargo, and then you'd have to buy a crate. Can you possibly drive?
